7 String Guitar Riffage Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 586 seconds This is just me rocking out on my Schecter 7 string Blackjack ATX and Loomis through my Line 6 HD147. I was going through a couple of rough song ideas as well as improvisationally playing. There is a little bit of sloppiness here and there. Tuning is (low to high) AEADGBE. Schecter C-1 Jolly Roger Review Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 533 seconds This is a rundown of my 2006 Schecter Jolly Roger. Its a limited edition guitar from Schecter that was a Musician's Friend exclusive. A little excess string noise came through on the video, so try not to pay attention. This is a great gutiar that you should snag up if you find one for sale somewhere. Schecter Hellraiser C-8 8 String Guitar Review Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 600 seconds This is my review of the Hellraiser C-8. Its one of the first 100 in the limited production black cherry run. I apologize for the video and audio being slightly off, not sure what happened. Also apologize for the string noise the laptop mic picks up and the sloppy playing. Still adjusting to the wide 8 string fretboard. Schecter Loomis 7 with Blackouts Part 2 Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 380 seconds Thought the first go around the blackouts in the Loomis sounded weak in the video. Changed the angle of the mic in my laptop to match some of the others. Hopefully these show another side of the newly equipped Loomis. Line 6 HD147 Run Down Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 602 seconds This video is a rundown of the settings I use with my HD147. I tried to do more of a complete review, but with the full video I shot came out to 21 minutes. This will have to do to meet the 10 minute limit. I am using the BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer and DOD dual 15 band EQ in my rack. I A/B the FX loop on and off towards the end of the video to show the effect they have on the tone. Schecter C-7 Blackjack ATX Review Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 601 seconds This is a rundown of the new Schecter model for 2008, the C-7 Blackjack ATX. This is a 7 string that features Seymour Duncan's new Blackout pickups. I give a brief review and do a demo of this guitar with distorted and clean tones. I also compare it to my Schecter Loomis to try and get a feel of Blackouts vs. EMGz. Schecter Loomis 7 Review Posted by: DarkKnight369
Video duration: 568 seconds This a rundown of my new Schecter C-7 Loomis. I go through the high gain and clean tones on my HD147 with this guitar. I only played this guitar 3-4 times before this review, so excuse the sloppy playing. I am still getting used to the neck and baritone scale. The 482i and EQ are both running in the loop and in stereo. So in essence, if I had 2 cabs I could tweak each one independently. I also have a BBE green screamer OD that I run in front of the amp, but I didn't have that until my later videos. I am using big bottom and the brit v30 cab model. Not sure what positions those are on the dial since I edited everything with Line 6 edit.

What amp and cab settings are you using on the distortion channel out of curiosity? Got the HD147 in yesterday and WOW what a beautiful amp!! Line 6 definitely did their homework with this one. Also is your Maximizer and eq in the effects loop or straight in.

I don't recall them being stereo when they were released. Maybe they changed this when they cut the Vetta cab. Its a good cab, but not the best match for the HD147 or Vetta II. Its 60watts shy of handling all the power. In addition to that the V30's color the sound. The HD147 and Vetta have cabinet modeling, and the matching cab had flat response speakers. Not saying that it won't work and sound good, its just not idea.

I may have put the wrong model # but mine is stereo. Its the 700 dollar version also. 240 watt with Vintage 30s
By: DarkKnight369. on 03 Mar 10, 23:09:44
The Spider Valve cab is pretty awesome from what I hear, but its not ideal for the HD147 or Vetta. Line 6 stopped making the matching cab for those amps. The HD147 and Vetta II are 300Watts in stereo. This is achieved by having 150w power section for each stereo channel, L & R. To achieve full wattage I have to run my head in stereo @ 4ohms with my 300w Vetta cab. To my knowledge the SV cab is not stereo, so the most you are going to get is 150W and that's if you can run it at 4 ohms...

I've been dealing with tube bulls@$t for quite some time and I'm sick to death of it. Cant get that tight bottom end out of a tube amp like i want. I just purchased the 412VS 240 watt Line 6 cab and its pretty awesome. By the sound and tone of what you have the 147 is looking better and better plus tyou play Schecters thru yours which really helps

Very different price ranges with very different amps. How much time do you want to spend tweaking tones? If you buy the Vetta, you will spend a ton of time tweaking because the amp has so many features. The Spider Valve would be the most simple to tweak. Do you want a stereo rig that can support 4 cabs? If so that is the HD147 or Vetta. Want the flexibility of 2 amps at once? Vetta 2. Tube(ish) tone and feel? Spider valve.

Fuckin A man I've got the satin black version of the ATX as you can tell by my user name..haha..You should be the spokesman for Line 6 and Schecter cause you've turned me into a Line 6 player. I've sold my whole rig and im debating between the HD100, HD147 or the Vetta 2.. Hard decision i must say

@DarkKnight369 ok, cheers.

You don't want the ones like mine....you want the Phase I blackouts. Mine are the Phase II. The Phase I are the shape of passives so you will not need to route the pickup cavity to make them fit. However, Ibanez guitars in generally usually have shallow cavities made for their pickups and Dimarzios. The pickup cavity might be too shallow. You may have to make it deeper or route a special path to hide the cables out of the way. I know this is the case on the Xiphos 7, not sure about the RGs

I've got an Ibanez rg7321, and i want the blackout pickups like yours do i need to to do any modifications to it to have them installed?

I got an email yesterday, there is a C-7 custom coming out as well. Looks like it will also have passives.

Oh Schecter. They never fail to cover all of the bases. Makes me want a 7 now from this review. Sweet licks by the way.

No c-7 classic....there is a c-7 standard with passives that will be coming around in 2010.
