I really disagree hitting on a hard 15 as a MUST when the dealer gets a 9. For example, if the deck is filled with low cards and you choose NOT to hit... Dealer should get the low cards (let's say, give them a 5,6,7). Then they're sitting on 15-16ish.. and potentially can then go bust. Remember, you have NO chance of winning if you go bust.

@saymikehawkfast Its not that complicated mate, If the deck is positive, it does nott mean you automatically hit on any hand, it means the next card off the shoe is more likely to be a high one. For example if your on 17 and the count is +3, it'd be advisable not to hit, as probabilty would suggest the card is going to be a 10/J/Q/K/A. Of course its possiable you could get an Ace, but in terms of probability, its more likely youll bust. You just need to judge it.

@jmac153 : automatic shufflers are usually 2 deck machines and the noise you hear is the cards being placed back in position. The program provided automatically chooses the cards out of the 2 decks for the play, so yes, in a way, the machine "shuffles" every round. With a 6 player game, card counting does have _some_ edge, but not as much as a 6 deck non-auto game.

@JC593 yeh most casinos do, but the one in my city has a card shuffling machine (described in my last post). I see the dealer put the cards in after everyhand, then the machine makes some noise and he then deals the next hand so prettty sure it shuffles them everytime but cant be 100% sure becoz the machine isnt transparent

@ShineAntares it means that chances are (and im not saying definitely) that a higher card (10,J,Q,K,A) is more likely to come down because more low cards have come down (at least 1/4 of the way through the game). +2's,3's,4's, and so on are all better because they give you a better chance of getting cards that get closer to 21 easier. and with fewer cards. hope this helps.

@eatho88 The shuffler is an electronic automatic card shuffler, everytime the dealer finishes a hand he collects the cards off the table and puts them into the card shuffler, the only card you can see is the one that is about to be dealt poking out the front of the machine. So everytime a hand is finished I think the deck(s) get shuffled. Moral of the story is my card counting aspirations are over :(

No intelligent person plays Blackjack anymore. The casinos are too paranoid about counters. Now they have one or more of the following at the table: 8 card decks, 6 to 5 payouts, one card dealt face down to the players, auto re-shufflers. The Blackjack heyday is long gone.

@sooshyiskool Couting cards is pointless unless you play basic with it. If you play 'mostly' correct basic, like most players do, you suffer on average a -2% disadvantage. Counting cards only gains about 1%, so you're still playing into a house edge. If you play perfect basic, you're around a -.5% house edge. Along with counting you be around a +.5% edge and have the advantage vs. the house. Finding good table rules and using index plays increase that even more. But basic is essential!

Doesn't matter what kind of strategy you're playing, basic or this "scamming" strategy that he's trying to pull of... You get an 11 against a 5 or a 6.. You double, because 5 and 6's are the likely bust cards, and no matter what you get after you hit on 11, you're not going to hit again, guaranteed... And you're the odds on favorite.. The narrator actually isn't describing the game very well. The goal is absolutely not to get as close to 21 as possible. The goal is to beat the dealer. Mathematically the house has a slight edge at blackjack because the house plays last, and can win without playing if everyone busts. Blackjack has the best inherent odds of any game in a casino if you play it with perfect technique.

@staypress stay away from card counting. your through the first step Accepting that card counting sucks. but thats not the end of the road there is another method which is better than card counting. try to to think a little harder and play black jack on a comp or iphone and you will see the pattern. card counting only diverts you to the REAL and Original method.

I mean I played BJ today and the count was +14 and I was wonging so what did I do I stuck £5 on the back of a guy who knew how to play and would you believe it we got 14 then a lucky 6 and the dealer got 20 so we drew then I stuck £10 on the back and gosh we got 15 against the dealers 10 ,I mean with a +14 count and we busted so what is the point you cant win either way unless someone has any helpful suggestions.
